    Leadership Team

  • Steven Clark - Chief Executive
      $myRow[name]
      Contact Steven

      tel: 01202 254324
Steven is an entrepreneur with 25 years experience in light engineering as well as commercial and residential property markets.

I have spent the past five years rebuilding Parvalux into a modern-sales-driven environment, expanding the business organically and through its acquisition of EMD. Three years ago I began a recruitment drive throughout the group that has continued even through the current market conditions. As CEO my main focus has been to seek out and hire new people with the qualifications and experience to add value to the strategy and vision of the group. Before hiring began I had to plan the strategy and asked myself several questions to assist in this process.

Which markets will the company enter?

      Who will our competitors be?

What product lines should we develop or focus on?

However to me the most important question of all, how will the company differentiate itself?

Once I had answers to those questions and a clearly defined strategy in place, I could then go to the market and find my team.

I now have a world-class team leading and participating in building Parvalux into a first class business! The key to our success is due in no small part to every Group employee knowing and sharing the company's vision and strategy. If vision is where the company is going, our values tell us how to get there. Our values outline acceptable behaviour and my team conveys values through their actions and reactions to others.

A smaller task, although no less important, was to consider rebuilding the culture within the group. All tasks get done through people, and people are profoundly affected by culture. A poor place to work can drive away high performers however, a great place to work can attract and retain the very best. I have learnt over the years that culture is built in dozens of ways and it is my job to set the tone. Action or inaction sends a cultural message. How I treat mistakes (feedback or failure?) sends signals about risk-taking. Who I hire or fire, and how are people rewarded greatly shapes the culture of our group of companies. The strongest influence on the culture within the group is the Managing Directors. Different companies need different approaches and that is evident within each company in the group.

Well done to those who have achieved so much in such a short time!

I spend my free time with family and friends either at home or travelling together. Holidays are special times and I use them to reflect, rejuvenate and more often than not to plan the next phase of our development. All-in-all a true family business!
